What's new

> September 10th 2008

- So Chris Haberman stopped by yesterday to drop off some pieces of mine from a show and he was kind enough to remind that I have only two weeks until the Klutch/Charlie Alan Kraft show at the Goodfoot. Thanks a lot Chris like I needed to that I am already stressed.... Now I have to submerge into myself and actually paint... It's been 14 years of painting with many years of deadlines and I still haven't learned. I always put everythign off until the last minute... Yeah to me....

- So I had these pieces at the AST tour and I brought one piece I used for the Portland mural show as my process board and the guys from the AST tour told me when I got there that the lead singer of Gym Class Heros wanted to bu ythe piece. The actual painting was never hung up it was just put to the side. I was like o.k. They're some MTV best new artists star like band and I was flattered the singer wanted to buy the piece. I waited around to run into them but never did. The guys from the AST tour said they would contact their manager and get back to me. That never happened but it's like it's their fault I hear that shit all the time. I'll buy this or I really want that, the best is I'l lshow you here and or I'll do this for you and you'll be a big star. It's really all bullshit in the end. It's gets so old but that's where we live right, I'm guilty of it. A society of people that make big promises but has very little follow through. Don't be offended if this doesn't mean you, if it doesn't great! I need to learn more from you then. Maybe that's my krama for making plans to be in so many shows and then getting wound so tight I screw loose and ditch out on al lthe shows I said I would be in. Yeah that's probebly it.

- The Mountain Dew AST tour is going on and I have some work hanging in there very large puffy white tent, shouldn't it be green or something? Anyway stop by and check the event out.

- I fly out This coming up Friday to do another event with the Pacific Art Collective in San Jose.... Once again I am very excited as I like these guys a lot. I'll only be there for an evening though and I have to fly back the next morning.

- After months of deliberation and lots of stress and lots of money needed to be owed and no one buying art and me being completely depressed a great thing happened. Even though I do not have my original computer and I am using a friends on loan I was supposed to have a children's book printed with New Skypress here in Portland but my computer died and it took a lot of money to fix. Well I don't have the cash to get it back from the shop but that's fine cause all this time sitting on a story I already had drawings done for and everything formatted I recently came up with a better character design and a way better look so I am diligently working on that as we speak and hope to convince the printing company to get it out as soon as it's finished.

- I have another City Pages cover in Minneapolis coming out in December or January. I'll post an image when it's finished.

What's Old

- My ability to organize my life to a point where I can calmly accomplish what I need to and more without frustration.

What Sucks

> September 10th 2008

- Most vinyl toys do. There are some that come out I am excited about but for the most part everyone seems to be stuck inside the scene adding and taking from toys that have already been produced. It gets old, even for someone who loves toys to see who are supposed to be the greatest and best cutting edge artists ( or really who are just friends with the right people or/and the people with money ) produce designs that have been puked up over and over again by so many others. Don't get me started on the obvious I ran out of ideas so I am making a toy based on someone's else's already commercialized cartoons either. I am so tired of the batman, starwars, and cartoon rip off kick going around. Can anyone just admit they are in a lull for originality, I know you can't make that much money from those htings it's worth pumping out three different versions. I wanna see more toys like Joe Ledbetter has come up with.

What Does't Suck
